SWITZERLAND | Lindt Home of Chocolate in Kilchberg, canton Zurich

My sister lives in Switzerland. She’s a hero at excursion and outing t(r)ips in the country and in her area, canton Zug, and adjacent cantons Zurich, Lucerne, Schwyz an Aargau. She recommended Lindt Home of Chocolate in Kilchberg, Zurich.

Lindt Home of Chocolate – das Schokoladenmuseum der Schweiz‘ is the full name of the museum.

“In the museum, you can journey back to the origins of chocolate and experience how cocoa conquered Europe. Meet the Swiss chocolate pioneers who made our lives sweeter with their inventions. Follow the chocolate manufacturing process in our modern test facilities. And find out just how irresistible Swiss chocolate is for yourselves.”

The tour is elaborate and comprehensive. It’s well explained and well illustrated. The House of Chocolate is more than propaganda for Lindt & Sprüngli, and also tells the (his)story of other Swiss chocolatiers.

One exhibit though, which shows chocolate consumption statistics, conveniently stays silent on Belgium‘s choco stats. It made me laugh.

The chocolate tours features tasting stations, even in corona times and at the end you can sample their Lindor assortment (and cunningly take many home).

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
