ANTWERP PRIDE 2023 | WE Fashion and OUTtv provide safe change / fitting rooms for going to the pride parade

It’s summer so it’s time for Antwerp Pride and Antwerp Queer Arts Festival (AQAF). From 4 to 27 August 2023, AQAF hosts queer artists being queer, in the alternative, quirky, more rebellious sense of the word. Antwerp Pride, from 9 to 13 August, is more mainstream, openly catering to everyone and thus attracting a general, more mainstream LGBTQIA+ and allied public. This year’s pride theme is ‘Braveolution‘.

Together with LGBTQIA+ tv network OUTtv, WE Fashion is providing a safe change / fitting room area on the Meir to get ready for pride. You need to book in advance.

“Pride is a time of joy, glitter and celebration. But how can there be a 100% celebration when there is still so much to improve?”

“Research by COC Nederland shows that not everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community feels free to be themselves in the presence of others. Sometimes they experience violence, harassment or incitement to hatred.”

“We believe that life is better together and that everyone deserves the space to discover which version of themselves they want to show. That is why, in collaboration with OUTtv, we offer our fitting rooms as safe spaces. In addition to creating a safe environment, we value discretion just as much and guarantee complete privacy for anyone who wants to use it.”

WE has done this earlier in Utrecht, Goes, Dordrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

The change / fitting room includes a make-up table and a power outlet. A stylist is there to help you with advice. You need to bring your own accessories, such as a hair dryer.
