The renovated promenade terrace and the restored historic hangars, located between Het Steen and the Noorderterras or Northern Terrace, in Antwerp, on the Scheldt Quays, are ready. Just in time for The Tall Ships Races.

The area, once dubbed Kaailine (will that terrible pun on the High Line in New York stick?), officially reopens on Friday 10 July 2026

“Come by from 11:30 AM and take a seat on one of the benches amidst the fresh greenery, admire the beautifully refurbished hangars, or simply enjoy the panoramic view over the Scheldt”, municipal real estate manager AG Vespa says.
