No, there won’t be a parade for Antwerp Pride this year. Even with COVID-19 statistics improving, it’s just not realistic to organise a parade. Too crowded, too expensive and too unrealistic at this point.
But there is a programme.
‘Trail of Stories’, 1 to 31 August
There will be again a ‘Trail of Stories‘. “Mark your calendars on August 1st. Just like last year, you can walk our ‘Trail Of Stories’ and discover some captivating stories by inspiring people, all while walking through the city of Antwerp.”
Which people will be featured, will be announced later.
Information centre at Stadsfeestzaal, 7 to 14 August
“Just like every year, you can find us at the Stadsfeestzaal between Saturday, August 7 and Saturday, August 14, from 10AM until 6PM. Our volunteers will answer all your questions about the Antwerp Pride 2021 theme and programmation, you can gather information about our partner organizations and you can support us by buying some of our brand new gadgets.”
Antwerp Pride Opening Night, OLT Rivierenhof, 11 August
The Opening Night will be a concert at OLT Rieverenhof in Deurne. Featuring Kids With Buns, Serine Ayari, LaDiva Live, Inteam Producties and Gregory Frateur. Places will be limited.
Human Rights Friday, 14 August
“Celebrating pride is also about reflecting on our theme for this year which we do on Human Rights Friday. Join us on Friday 13th together with captivating guests to delve deeper into our topic Not Just Words with panel discussions, keynotes and workshops. This year Human Rights Friday takes place in De Studio, the Permeke Library and Stadspark.”
