‘Disney Express’ by Thalys to Disneyland Paris / Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy

Disney_Thalys_announcement

In order to get to Bordeaux, Danny and I booked a Thalys in Comfort 1 from Antwerp-Central station to Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy. That’s the TGV station for Disneyland Paris.

Disney Express‘ is actually the luggage service provided by Disneyland so visitors of the theme park don’t need to worry about their luggage.

We chose to travel to Marne The Valley (yes, sometimes a translation is used) to avoid having to change stations in the City of Paris. There you need to transfer from Paris-Nord (Paris-North) to Paris-Montparnasse by metro or RER.

By choosing Marne, we were able to travel from Antwerp to Bordeaux in two trains. Excellent.

Thalys Comfort 1

Thalys Comfort 1 has no surprises for us anymore. The rolling consisting of GEC-Alstom PBA and PBKA EMU’s is dated but comfortable.

Comfort 1 means a light meal, better seats and most importantly ‘first class behaviour’ by fellow passengers. It’s significantly quieter in first class. You should always check out prices as Comfort 1 is sometimes not much more expensive, sometimes even cheaper than Comfort 2.

The ride is similar to other Thalys rides.

Mickey awaits

Once out of the station, Disneyland is very, very close indeed. Maybe 300 meters. So taking the train to Disneyland Paris is really a no-brainer.
